Photocells are still an excellent choice for protecting your car, but are often fitted in the wrong position for gates that work with lorries and other heavy goods vehicles. To protect the vehicles and gates, loop detectors are invaluable. In this section we will look at the different loop detection devices available.

MVP-E-TEC Loop Detector
The MPV-E-TEC is an evolution of the MPV-D-TEC and Ultra 2. This vehicle loop system can be powered by 12V upto 230V. As with other loop systems in the range the detector provides multiple functions most notably the digital display showing how much the loop is affected by vehicles moving above. Quick adjustments can be made to the sensitivity of the MPV-E-TEC by turning the dial above to
match the sensitivity required.

Vehicle Detectors
Vehicle detectors are work in very much the same way as a loop detector but the biggest advantage they have is that they do not require a loop to be connected to the device. This makes the device advantageous as it removes the time consuming job of installing a traditional loop. In this section we will look at the different detection devices available and discuss their merits.
Optex Above ground Vehicle Detector
No groundwork required
The Optex Vechicle detector is designed to reliably detect the presence of a stationary or moving vehicle while also having the ability to ignore most human traffic. It also eliminates the hassles associated with the installation of an induction loop. No more concrete cutting required. The detector can be mounted at 500mm from the ground and can detect both small and large vehicles.
